Gesture and Contour Line Drawings

Hello everyone!
Today we are going to learn about two types of drawings: gesture and contour. Now just like it sounds gesture drawing is a drawing that gestures to what you are drawing. Gesture drawing is loose, quick, and makes the rough appearance of the object. Contour drawing is just the opposite, it is a precise replication of an object. Contour drawing is similar in photography that it's job is to entirely replicate. In our class we explored the differences of these two types of drawings by drawing our shoes. Here is my gesture drawing of a shoe:
Notice how there is multiple lines on top of each other to get the correct line. In gesture drawing you don't need to be exact and it is suppose to be a quick sketch so put down as many lines as you need, just make sure your drawing doesn't go over two minutes, preferably a minute.
Here is a picture of a contour drawing I did on the computer with Adobe Illustrator. A contour line drawing is a drawing that is accurate and carefully placed to draw an object. Notice in the drawing how there is no implied texture placed, and only lines drawing out areas of the onion I did.
